Carambola or Star fruit is the fruit of Averrhoa carambola, a species of tree native to the Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Seychelles.

The fruit is popular throughout the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, Micronesia, and parts of East Asia. The tree is also cultivated throughout non-indigenous tropical areas, such as in Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and the southern United States.
